Back from France

France must have realised I was celebrating a milestone birthday, as it very kindly protected my skin from the damaging effects of the sun – it stayed cloudy/rainy for most of our holiday!

Despite the disappointing weather (sadly no swimming or breakfast on the terrace), Mr Anusha and I had a lovely time exploring the countryside around Nice and Cannes. We used an American guide book we found in our room, Karen Brown's France B&B, which has suggested routes for the different areas of France it covers. Clear and easy to use, I'd definitely use her books again.

I always think it’s a good sign when you start planning a return visit for the next year, and we've decided to head a little bit along the coast to Provence for summer 2009!
