The second recommendation in my Best of Bath series is
The King William pub. A 15-minute walk from the city centre, this cosy little pub offers award-winning British food, an excellent wine list, real ales from local microbreweries and proper Somerset cider. They source all their food from local suppliers (meat is free-range/organic and farmed locally; veg is grown in market gardens around Bath; fish is delivered daily from Cornwall).
This pub offers one of the best Sunday lunch in town - available downstairs in the buzzy pub, or upstairs in the 'dining rooms'.
Quotes include: 'So good it brings a tear to the eye... well worth making the train journey from London, even just for lunch' - Giles Coren, The Times
Good Food Guide 2008: 'A proper appreciation of our culinary heritage and an uncompromising devotion to local ingredients'
